Food Assistance Resources

Dear Tribal Members,

The COT have been working diligently to address the needs of tribal members who have been—or may soon be—affected by changes to the SNAP food assistance program.

We are pleased to share that we have secured additional support from Hamptons Community Outreach. Any tribal member currently receiving SNAP benefits can sign up for food assistance through the COT Office.

Please bring a copy of your active SNAP card or award letter when signing up. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

If you have an elder family member who cannot come to the office in person, please contact us so we can make alternative arrangements.

At this time, assistance through this initial phase of outreach is available to tribal members residing on territory. However, we understand that food insecurity affects our wider community as well, so we have also included a list of local food banks and community pantries below for any tribal member in need of support.

Tabutne,

Shinnecock Council of Trustees
