Ayeu (Dwelling Place) Transitional Housing

The Shinnecock Transitional Housing Program is a short term housing program whose purpose is to address homelessness on the Shinnecock Nation Territory. Program participants will have access to short term housing and receive case management to help them locate and secure long term housing options. First round of applications due October 31, 2022.

Eligibility

Must be an enrolled Shinnecock Tribal member.

Must be 18 of age or older.

Must be homeless as defined in policies and procedures.

Application Process

Applications are available online, at the COT Building with Family Assistance Program or in the Housing Department.

 

Applications must be completed in full with all supporting documentation.

 

Completed applications can be submitted to the Family Assistance Program in the COT building, emailed to familyassistance@shinnecock.org or mailed to PO Box 5006 Southampton, NY 11969 attn: Family Assistance Program

Determination Process

Homes are designed for single person use only. No couples or families will be accepted at this time. Applications will be scored by a pre determined scoring matrix based on need. Priority is given to elders, those with a disability, mental health diagnosis, fleeing domestic violence, and/or immune compromised.
