Enduring Heart: Native American Long Island

Congratulations to all of the Shinnecock artists featured in Enduring Heart: Native American Long Island, an ongoing exhibition at The Long Island Museum in Stony Brook, on a successful opening reception held Thursday, September 10.

Enduring Heart: Native American Long Island explores the rich history and continuing presence of the Indigenous peoples of Long Island, highlighting both historical and contemporary Indigenous experiences. The exhibition features the work of 15 Shinnecock artists, alongside historical photographs, artifacts, and works representing Native communities across Long Island. Together, the exhibition celebrates the enduring connections to land, culture, tradition, and community that continue to shape Native life on Long Island today.

The exhibition will be on view at The Long Island Museum through December 20, 2026.
