Alcohol and Drug Treatment Available Through IHS Shinnecock Service Unit

Funding for in-patient detox and rehab services is available through IHS for enrolled members of the Shinnecock Nation who reside on-territory or anywhere in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. We have Provider Agreements in place with Seafield Center and Phoenix Houses of L.I., and facilitate payment for Quannacut in Greenport. IHS also funds treatment at St. Regis Mohawk’s Partridge House for adults in Hogansburg, NY, and at the Unity Youth Healing Center in Cherokee, NC, for youth ages 13 to 17. Outpatient programs are also available at most providers.
Mental Health Counseling and treatment are also available through IHS.

Jamie Nauheim, PhD, PC, a Clinical Psychologist in Riverhead.
Virginia St. John, LCSW, for her private practice off-territory for increased confidentiality.
Dr. Lucian Manu at Stony Brook Psychiatric Associates for Ketamine Treatment.
Dr. Eric Bartky, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist via Telehealth.

The IHS Shinnecock Service Unit is also working toward finalizing a contract with Stony Brook for additional treatment and to develop an overall 5-Year Behavioral Health Strategic Plan for the Shinnecock Indian Nation.
